![]() ![]() Roller Coaster Tycoon and its expansion packs, were a very fun & challenging game, that never got boring and remained enjoyable for years. I got RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum because I'd gotten the original Roller Coaster Tycoon game as well as the expansion packs, Corkscrew Follies and Loopy Landscapes from Best Buy, or Circuit City (or other brick & mortar stores), in the late-90s/early-00's - and I'd really liked, if not even LOVED it! It would seem a shame to have such a sleek gaming notebook and have to carry around an external disk all the time.īoth of the criticisms above take nothing away from the gameplay though and for that reason, I still need to give it five stars. ![]() ![]() I don't know how someone with a MacBook Air could play the game with the physical disk requirement. I havent tried to start it and then eject the disk, but maybe that is a solution. It seems such a waste of energy to be spinning that disk the whole time I am playing. The DVD player on my Mac is loud when it spins and actually vibrates my machine. All of the files are copied onto your hard drive but it still checks if the DVD is inserted before it will play. You definitely get your dollars-to-entertainment value from this game.Īnd two, you have to have the disk to play. Where does that time go? Maybe it's not so bad because I'm having fun the whole time. You start to build a park meaning to spend only a short while and end up fiddling with it for hours and hours. Only two things bother me about the game: I didn't change any of the out-of-the box settings and it just worked for me. I'm playing it on a two year old MacBook Pro and it seems to run just fine. When I saw this, I had to get it and it was just like I remembered. Then I made the switch and kind of gave up on gaming. I love RCT 3 and played it and the add ons all the way through on Windows a couple of years back. ![]()
